October is in full swing! Throughout Florida there are several events happening this month, some known in part to the theme parks in the Orlando area, some not so well known that go beyond your average theme park attraction that locals and tourists alike get to enjoy. This weekend is full of events throughout all parts of Florida, whether on vacation or just a local looking to do something different this weekend take a look below at all the events and attractions happening this coming weekend.

October 14th – 15th Creatures of the night Tampa: Travel out to Tampa for the weekend and take part in the Lowry park zoo’s annual Halloween Celebration filled with scare zones,animal encounters and a ghoul dance party. Zoo Members will get in free as well as “pay for a day” Tickets after 4:00pm, Tickets are $19.95 and can be purchased here

October 14-16th Spooktacular Jacksonville: Take a trip out to Jacksonville this weekend to experience the opening of this years halloween event at the Jacksonville zoo and gardens complete with scare zones a live dj as well as witches and more. Tickets can be purchased here  starting at 9 dollars for non members and 7 for members.

Oct. 14-16, 21-23, 28-30: Boo at the Zoo, Melbourne. The Brevard Zoo’s annual Halloween zoo party runs every Friday-Sunday in late October with more than 30 treat stations, a DJ, games, costume contest and haunted house. The event is 5:30-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 5:30-8 p.m. Sundays, at 8225 N. Wickham Road. Admission is $8-$14. Tickets can be purchased here

Oct. 15: 4th Annual Autumn in the Oaks Festival, DeLeon Springs. Music and crafts are part of the country fair atmosphere with free kidzone, historic exhibits and a collection of Model A cars along with Old Tyme and Bluegrass bands. The free event is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Porter House, 5030 Highway 17 N.

Oct. 15: Family Pumpkin Festival, White Springs. Big Shoals State Park hosts a family fun night complete with pumpkin bowling, face painting, hayrides and more.

Oct. 15: Haunted Moonlight Hike, Keystone Heights. Join a one-mile hike along a haunted trail through the woods of Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park. The park warns that the hike will be scary, so “please use discretion in bringing young children.” For safety reasons, strollers and pets are prohibited. Tickets are $5 and will be sold from 7 to 9 p.m., with proceeds funding the park’s Citizen Support Organization. Tickets can be purchased here

Oct. 15-16: Fall Art and Craft Festival, Cocoa. This free event features more than 200 exhibitors, a kids’ zone and live music from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Historic Cocoa Village on Brevard Avenue. 321-631-9075, visitcocoavillage.com

Oct. 15-16, 22-23, 29-30: Pumpkin Festival, Bradenton. Enjoy a day at a real working farm with homemade apple cider, a petting farm, old country store, pumpkin patch, arts and crafts, live music, hay and pony rides, scarecrow displays, homemade ice cream, farm roasted sweet corn, rock climbing wall, petting zoo, barnyard playground, face painting, children’s train ride, juggler, a frog jumping championship and more. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission $10; ages 12 and under free.
